Your contributions can help Black children and their caregivers learn to swim, equip and train our volunteer leaders to lead their communities safely in nature, and grow our participation network of 60,000+ people who venture outdoors with us and return for health-enhancing activities, for conservation and preservation of and advocacy for public land, waterways, and wildlife.
No gift is too small. Every contribution allows us to innovate how we sustain our land, water, and wildlife, and inspire more Black connections and leadership in nature.
Become an Outdoor Afro Volunteer Leader
We’re looking to bring on new Volunteer Leaders for the next year! If you’re passionate about nature and ready to inspire others in your community to get involved in their local outdoor spaces, apply for the 2025-2026 Volunteer Leader Program or help us spread the word!
If this sounds like something someone you know would be excited about, encourage them to apply! Applications are due by February 28th.
Make Waves With Us
Since 2019, Making Waves has funded hundreds of children and caregivers to learn life-saving swim and water skills, and we’d love your help to ensure 500 more Black children and their families learn these life-saving skills before the end of the year.
With this donation, you can gift yourself (or a loved one) swim lessons, or refer a swim school or instructor to partner with us. Speaking of swim instructors, we want to partner with you too! Learn how we partner with U.S. swim instructors here, and help us continue to reach our goal of ensuring every Black child can swim.
