For too long, many Black communities have faced barriers to accessing outdoor spaces and opportunities, creating disparate outcomes that research is demonstrating can be addressed through exposure to and activity in nature. Outdoor Afro is changing that story by creating welcoming, community centered experiences across the country.

Every donation helps move the mission forward.
$200 Provides life-saving beginner swim lessons for one person through Making Waves.
$300 Equips one Outdoor Afro Volunteer with certifications and advanced outdoor leadership training, preparing them to safely lead hundreds of people into nature each year.
$400 Provides life-saving beginner swim lessons for an entire family.
$25,000 Supports one Making Waves community collaborator for a full year, expanding access to swim instruction and water safety where it’s needed most.
$100,000+ Strengthens Outdoor Afro’s national network, helping us train leaders, expand programs, develop innovative technology, and connect more communities to the health and healing power of nature.
We also accept gifts through stock, IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), and Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs).
